At the invitation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Fisheries, the Chief Executive Officer of Portos do Norte, Dr Fernando Amado Couto, participated as a speaker at the 3rd Crescendo Azul Conference, held in Maputo under the theme “Blue Future: Accelerating Economic Sustainability”. In his presentation, entitled “Maritime Transport as an Imperative for the Development of the National Economy”, Dr Fernando Couto highlighted the strategic role of the maritime and port sector in Mozambique’s economic growth, emphasising the progress achieved in the national management of ports and the sector’s contribution to job creation and economic development. His address also reflected on the challenges facing the sustainable development of the blue economy, ranging from the preservation of marine ecosystems to the strengthening of maritime surveillance and security in the Mozambique Channel.

Portos do Norte’s participation in this important platform reaffirms the institution’s commitment to the development of the national maritime sector and to building sustainable solutions for the future of Mozambique’s blue economy.
